APRIL 2, 2026

The three‑member NEEF Society Board is comprised of one representative of the Province of British Columbia, one representative of Rio Tinto, and one Independent Public Member.

Nathan Silver has been appointed as the newest Independent Public Board Member, following a recruitment and interview process.

“I am pleased to have the opportunity to join the NEEFS Board as the Independent Public Member,” Nathan states. “As a lifelong Vanderhoof resident, I am keenly aware of the importance of the Nechako Watershed, yet there is still so much to learn. I look forward to deepening my understanding of the watershed and helping to shape NEEFS decisions that will generate environmental benefits for the region.”

Nathan Silver is a proud member of Saik’uz First Nation and has spent the majority of his life living in the Nechako Watershed area. He holds a degree in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Alberta, bringing a strong foundation in governance, policy, and community engagement.

Nathan also brings several years of experience working with First Nations and local governments, contributing valuable knowledge, perspective, and leadership to the NEEFS Board of Directors. NEEFS is pleased to welcome Nathan and looks forward to the insights and contributions he will bring to the Board.
